Accessibility

As an institution dedicated to Human Rights, the Memorial da Resistência works so that all people, with no distinction, have access to culture, art, and history. In 2014, we inaugurated the Memorial ParaTodos [Memorial To All] program, with a focus on the necessary and urgent inclusion of people with disabilities.

Since then, part of our spaces, exhibitions and educational and cultural activities have been designed based on the specificities of this diverse audience, exploring their sensory and emotional capacities and respecting their autonomy.

Our spaces are large, free of obstacles, making the movement of people easier. They also have ramps, as well as tactile flooring, rest areas, drinking fountains, tables, open areas, and accessible restrooms. Part of the exhibition space is available for touch. We also have wheelchairs for on-site use.

The images and texts of the exhibitions are at the recommended height for wheelchair users and people of short stature. We also have 3D models and tactile boards, Braille and multi-sensory support material, Brazilian sign language translation, videos with audio description, alternative communication boards, concrete materials and itineraries that allow pairing for people with intellectual disabilities.

Memorial Para Todos is under constant development. It has already won three national awards for accessibility in museums and has educators prepared to tend all people with disabilities.

Mediated visits can be scheduled over the number (11) 3335-5192 or at:

Note: Due to COVID-19, group-mediated visits are currently suspended.
