Regular Testimonies Collection

The Regular Testimonies Collection [Coleta Regular de Testemunhos] program produces video-recorded interviews of narratives and memories of ex-prisoners and victims of political persecution, relatives of the dead and missing people, and social movement activists in the context of the civil-military dictatorship in the state of São Paulo. See the content available in the digital repository.

Using the methodology of Oral History, the program conducts individual interviews, recorded in a studio, and collective interviews open to public participation. Aiming to raise awareness about the history of the State Department of Political and Social Order of São Paulo (Deops-SP), the collection of audiovisual records of the Memorial da Resistência is constantly expanding.

The Regular Testimonies Collection program aims to:

  • The expansion of public awareness about Deops-SP and political resistance;
  • The production and dissemination of audiovisual materials with the goal of democratizing knowledge;
  • The promotion of public debates and thematic reflections on the memory of dictatorial and democratic periods;
  • Offering financial aid for temporary exhibitions and for updating the contents of the long-term exhibition.
