At level street

  From June 27, 2026 to March 28, 2027

  Age rating: 12+

At level street shows photographs by artist and activist Sato do Brasil (Rio de Janeiro, 1968) in São Paulo, primarily in the state capital, from 2015 to 2025. Curated by researcher Juliana Caffé, the exhibit shows pictures portraying different forms of collective effort and occupation of urban spaces, based on the relationship between the photographer and the streets, the collectives and the social movements.

Sorted across four axes — Finding, Occupying, Intervening and Sharing — the exhibit offers audiences the chance to witness different kinds of collective presence in the public sphere and reflect on the pictures actively contribute to narratives about their respective historical facts. Documenting these experiences across collectives and social movements from the streets reveals the importance of using the media and independent journalism in Brazil, as well as how photography can become a tool of political participation and to preserve memories.

The exhibit also shows a mapping of organized groups regarding civil society to help us understand the networks of articulation and solidarity across the São Paulo capital city, as developed by sponsor ARTIGO 19.
